The tile usually isn't the problem
Concrete and clay tile can last a long time. What gives out first is usually the underlayment under it, baked by years of Vegas sun. That's why a lot of tile roofs need a re-lay: we lift the tiles, put down new underlayment and lay the same tiles back.
Repair, re-lay or replace?
A few cracked tiles is a repair. Leaks in more than one spot, or underlayment that's falling apart, usually means a re-lay. We'll get up there, show you photos and tell you which one you need.
Signs your tile roof needs attention
- Cracked, broken or slipped tiles
- Water stains on the ceiling after rain
- Underlayment showing between tiles
- Loose or missing ridge tiles
- Rusted or lifted flashing around vents and walls
How a tile roof goes on
Keep scrolling to watch it build.
Stage 1 of 4
Tiles come off
We lift the tiles and stack them on the roof. Good tiles get reused, and cracked ones get replaced.

Stage 2 of 4
New underlayment
The old, sun-baked underlayment comes off and new underlayment goes down, lapped from the bottom up so water runs off, not under. Battens go on top to hold the tiles.

Stage 3 of 4
Tiles go back on
Tiles are laid back course by course and fastened, with flashing at the edges, valleys and anything that comes through the roof.

Stage 4 of 4
Ridge and finish
Ridge caps go on and get sealed. Rain hits the tile, runs over the new underlayment and off the roof.

This is our general process. Every roof is different, and we'll walk you through exactly what yours needs.
Straight answers
Can you replace just a few broken tiles?
Yes. If the rest of the roof is in good shape, we'll swap the broken ones and check the area around them. Matching older tile can take some looking, and we'll tell you if a perfect match isn't possible.
What's a tile re-lay?
We lift the tiles, replace the underlayment underneath and lay the tiles back. Good tiles get reused and cracked ones get replaced. It's often how a tile roof with leaks gets fixed without buying all-new tile.
Is it OK to walk on my tile roof?
We'd rather you didn't. Tile cracks easily underfoot if you don't know where to step. Send us photos from the ground or a ladder and we'll take it from there.
